The Henry Ford is the world’s largest indoor/outdoor museum. The world-class facility was developed by Henry Ford in 1929 to chronicle the development of the United States from a rural, agricultural society into a highly industrialized world power. Neighboring Greenfield Village offers authentic historical experiences and treasures such as Thomas Edison’s lab, while Henry Ford Museum presents complete exhibits on such subjects as communication, agriculture, technology, and, of course, the automobile. |

The Detroit Institute of Arts is the fifth-largest fine arts museum in the United States and holds over 60,000 works. Its more than one hundred galleries offer special showings such as a special Van Gogh exhibit, as well as standard collection sculptures, paintings, and graphic/decorative arts. The museum recently completed a multi-million dollar renovation that opened to rave reviews. |
